•   What if my country or school has a different grading system than the U.S.?

We measure academic success by examining your academic record within your school's grading system. Dartmouth admissions officers are familiar with a variety of international grading systems.

•   If I am an American citizen who currently attends school abroad, should I apply to Dartmouth as an International Student?

Yes, you should apply as an International Student. In the Secondary School Report, your counselor will provide information about the primary language of instruction and programs offered at your school (A-levels, Abitur, etc.).

•   Can you read recommendations written in languages other than English?

We suggest that recommendations be translated to English before they are submitted, and that the translator sign and date all such documents. Translations are verified once the documents have been submitted.
